::Good place to charter a boat. If you're a competent boater you may not need a captain. Stores are a little pricey for food, but they have the staples.

::Just last week July 5, 2018 we completed a seven day charter that I booked with the Moorings. This was my third charter with them in the last three years. Upon my arrival at the Moorings base in Tortola we went over the onboard orientation checking all systems. During our vacation everything worked as it should. Upon our return we did an onboard debriefing of all systems. Everything was functioning as it did upon our arrival. To my surprise they explained to me that one of the two heads on our vessel was clogged. I was shocked to hear this due to the fact that the unit functioned fine during our entire trip as it did upon our arrival and return. Again to my surprise they explained that I was going to have to pay to have it unclogged. Unfortunately at that moment I was pressed for time and did not have the time to dispute it wth the manager Mr. Greg George. It felt like a scam! I did not beleive it was justified and For this reason I will not book again with the Moorings. They will lose considerable more in future revenue and profit because I will book all future charters through Marine Max as I would recommend others do.

::My husband and I rented a 51' Power Cat with 2 other couples through the Moorings. This is the 3rd time I myself have gone through Moorings for a charter. This is the first time that their service has lacked. First off, the trip was amazing all the way around so if this is a trip you are considering, go for it. You will have memories for a lifetime. I have loved every trip I've done like this. The only complaint I had this time was the service fell so short on the Moorings side of things. They did not do a thorough walk through explaining how to use much of the boat. There was NO manual or notebook explaining anything they rushed through. They did not answer the radio when called for. They did not get us our cell phone to reach them with so the radio was the only thing we had to rely on. They were supposed to move a boat so we could get out of our slip, they did not-it was like once they got us out of the captains meeting they left for the day and never even checked in with us before leaving. The boat was so big that the mooring hook couldn't reach the mooring at times. They need a longer hook, lol. After stating all of this, the good things-the boat was beautiful, there was more than enough room for 3 couples and there would be plenty of room for more! The grill on the upper deck worked great for cooking breakfast, we never had any problems with the boat-she was beautiful and ran smooth. There was plenty of storage for our provisions and we had Moorings do our provisions for us. We were short a few things and had a few substitutes but it was all good! The boat was a smooth ride and handled the seas like a champ even on a rough day. I would highly recommend, just make sure if you have ANY questions, take your time going through the boat-don't let them rush you-get there plenty early so you feel comfortable with everything before you go out. We were in such a hurry to get our trip started that we weren't sure what we didn't know how to operate until it came time to use the items. We eventually figured everything out but just go through and try operating everything before you leave-it will make your trip a bit smoother!

::We have chartered with the Moorings many times now as a bareboat charter. This was our first crewed Yacht experience and was it fabulous! Our crew Captain Rob and Chef Becky are simply AMAZING!!!!!! They are the kind of people that makes the world a better place, if everyone worked as hard as they do the Caribbean wouldn't be called a laid back place anymore. We had 10 guests on the Poseidon's Pearl and we are still talking about how amazing our food was and the portions they gave us. We were celebrating our 35th Anniversary and Captain Rob and Chef Becky went out of their way to make our day wonderful. They had us a beach cookout for lunch on a secluded beach and cooked us the most special steak dinner that night which by the way was the best tasting steak I have eaten. These special people followed that with a dance party on the boat with all 1983 music. All of our guest had a great time and can't say enough about our CREW on their profile they say you become family and that is so true they now have 10 new Mothers and Fathers!!!!
